The chances of winning the lottery are very few or none, but one man’s luck has defied the odds.
Michael Christiansen, from the US state of Nebraska, won the lottery for the second time this year.
Earlier this month, Christiansen won $ 100,000 after buying a 20-chance scratch card. He redeemed his prize on October 15 at the state lottery headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was his second visit to headquarters this year, as he won $ 50,000 in another scratch card in March.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “What are the chances? I still don’t think it’s true, ”Christiansen said in a press release.
He bought both tickets at a tobacco shop in Norfolk.
When asked about his plans for the money, Christiansen had some ideas. He said he wants to build a new garage and save some of the amount for retirement.
He said his daughter died recently, and he will try to buy the house where she lived.
The 20-chance scratch card offers buyers a chance to win prizes of $ 10 to $ 100,000. The chance of winning the 50,000 or 100,000 prize is 1 in 80,000, according to the Nebraska lottery.
