Betsson reported a 24% increase in revenue for the year 2020, driven by significant growth in the fourth quarter. The group’s revenue was $ 764.7 million last year, which also represented an organic increase of 20%, while operating profit registered a jump of 30%.
The operator attributed the improvements of the fourth quarter of last year to the boom of online games and to a greater margin of sports betting with the resumption of the sports calendar and a schedule full of live events in the respective period.
In addition, the group also mentioned the various acquisitions it made, including the acquisition of a license to operate in Argentina, in the North American state of Colorado and the launch of its Betsafe brand in the Kenyan market, in the final stretch of last year.
“Betsson ended 2020 with another strong quarter. There are several reasons for Betsson’s success. The transition to digital entertainment was further accelerated during the pandemic, which benefited us,” said Betsson AB President and CEO, Pontus Lindwall .
