iGaming Brazil: What are Altenar’s plans for 2021?
Domenico Mazzola: Changing plans to continue growth and expansion. LATAM is one of the main markets for us and we can proudly say that we are one of the main sports betting suppliers here.
iGaming Brazil: What does the company project for the Latin American market?
Domenico Mazzola: We are projecting several interesting launches of new operations in the region. We have now completed the new sports betting software that allows us more flexibility and new features.
iGaming Brazil: Considering the pandemic period, could you tell us if the player’s demand has changed?
Domenico Mazzola: We saw many players migrating from retail to online. Due to various restrictions on public meetings, many people decided to start exploring or spend more time betting online.
iGaming Brazil: Did you feel any changes in verticals (land, mobile and online) as a result of the pandemic?
Domenico Mazzola: As I said before, with many limitations in place in most countries, players are spending more time betting on their cell phones or the in comfort of their apartments.
iGaming Brazil: What are the main differences in the LATAM and European markets?
Domenico Mazzola: Many people believe that the LATAM and European markets can be considered two distinct regions. As we strongly believe in customization, we can say that not only are they different from each other, but even the countries that make up these two continents do not share many things in common.
Regulations, languages and cultures are very different. Brazilians and Colombians don’t even share the same vocabulary. While Peruvian players are used to using online payment methods to top up their accounts, Colombians prefer to go to physical stores to do the same action. That is why it is essential to launch its gambling operation to assess suppliers who understand and have successfully implemented this diversification strategy.
