The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) is ready to start the 2021 season on the 24th of this month. Therefore, the Betcris bookmaker will again support the competition as an official sponsor. CEBL, which was founded in 2019 with six teams, is now made up of seven teams playing 14 games each.
Four of the teams are from Ontario, while there is one from British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Betcris has been an official sponsor of the league since its inception and is proud of the relationship that has been created. Over the past two years, despite the problems triggered by COVID-19 last year, CEBL has continued to gain popularity.
The betting company, which understands the value the league brings to the sports community, has helped promote CEBL every step of the way. This year, the house is preparing a streaming platform that will allow fans and bettors everywhere to access all the excitement online.
The league decided to continue with a format it introduced last year at the Summer Series. Elam Ending is designed to keep pace throughout the match, reducing certain actions, such as deliberate fouls, that would otherwise stop the clock.
When used in last year’s Summer Series, Elam produced more fun games for fans and more competition between teams. In addition to CEBL, the format was used in the NBA All-Star Games.
With Elam Ending, the game clock is stopped for the first time with four minutes or less in the fourth period. Thus, the game is stopped and a scoring goal set. This goal is equal to the lead team’s score plus nine, and the first team to reach that score wins.
Betcris has supported CEBL since its inception in 2019
Randall Aguilar, head of sponsorship at Betcris, said: “The NBA has been using Elam Ending for their All-Star game and has definitely made it more fun and exciting. with this specific change, it opens up new markets, it will be fun to watch and fun to gamble”.
This year, CEBL will hold the games in the arena of each of the seven teams, as long as health protocols allow. Last year, a bubble, similar to the one used by the NBA, was organized to complete the season.
Aguilar added: “We are very excited to see the league take off and know that we have been partners since its inception. The way they have grown and evolved is just thrilling. a bubble in 2020. That’s definitely an advantage of the new season.”
Also, the next season will end with a Final Four and the final. All of this last week’s games will be played in a single city. But, the dates and locations of the final games have not yet been announced.
