IBIA reports 88 suspicious betting alerts in Q2

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) reported 88 suspicious betting cases to the relevant authorities during the second quarter of 2022. Alerts for this period covered eight sports, the top three being football (32 cases), tennis (27) and racing. horses (12) and accounting for over 80% of all reported alerts.

Geographically, the alerts spanned 36 countries, with Europe accounting for about half (52%) of all reported alerts, followed by Asia (20%) and North America (15%).

Ontario was the main focus of regulatory interest during the second quarter, with the Canadian province opening up its online marketplace to regulated operators. IBIA has been accredited as an independent integrity monitor by the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and represents the majority of operators currently offering sports betting in the province.
