LeoVegas has partnered with former goalkeeper for English clubs Newcastle and Manchester City, Shay Given. From now on, the former player will provide punters with tips and opinions for football fans in his native Ireland.
As part of the deal, Given will appear on LeoVegas’ social media platforms, as well as giving his insight into top stories from the world of football.
“I am very happy to sign for LeoVegas. After many years of playing in the Premier League for some truly amazing teams and representing Ireland at major tournaments, I am looking forward to sharing my football insights and tips,” said Shay Given.
Meanwhile, Sam Behar, Director UK & Ireland at LeoVegas Group, stated: “Having an Irish sporting hero like Shay Given on board shows the great strides LeoVegas is making in the Irish market.”
“We’re excited to be able to share Shay’s exclusive insights into all the big games for the rest of the season and of course provide our customers with special offers, freebies and the best iGaming experience along the way.”
It is worth remembering that the company also has partnerships with world-renowned clubs, such as Manchester City (which also competes in the English Championship) and Inter Milan, in Italy.
Company projects recovery in 2023
LeoVegas reported a revenue drop of 1% in the third quarter of last year. Total revenue for 2022 was €295.2 million, beating the €292.9 million total for 2021.
For LeoVegas, total revenue for 2021 was €391m, which – provided the Swedish company doesn’t have fourth-quarter underperformance – should be able to bounce back by the time financial results are announced in early 2023.
