The bookmaker DraftKings in the Wrigley Field in Chicago will open to the public on June 27, but for food service only. Sports betting will have to wait until DraftKings receives its license from the Illinois Gaming Board.
Located on the corner of Addison and Sheffield Streets, in the south east of Wrigley Field, the bookmaker will offer food and drink while showing games on a video screen measuring over 185 square meters.
The venue will feature a moving ticker displaying odds, scores and player information. It will also offer betting kiosks, ticket booths and a restaurant.
DraftKings continues to invest in new businesses
PointsBet has confirmed that it has received an unsolicited proposal from DraftKings to acquire its US division for $195 million. The company said its board is evaluating the proposal, which involves acquiring the business with no debt, cash or financing conditions.
After considering the proposal, PointsBet stated that DraftKings’ offer could result in a “superior” offer to that submitted by Fanatics the previous month. The company plans to engage with DraftKings on its proposals.
However, PointsBet stressed that DraftKings’ proposal does not constitute a binding offer or a commitment to make a formal offer. In addition, the group reiterated that it will continue to recommend that shareholders vote in favor of the agreed sale to Fanatics, while also considering DraftKings’ proposal.
Voting on the Fanatics deal is scheduled to take place on June 30, during an Extraordinary General Meeting.
