Currently, the lottery modality of fixed odds bets, the “bets”, have been legal in Brazil since 2018, but not all states have regulation of the modality. Paraná has Lottopar.
Paraná was one of the first states to regulate this type of bet. The initiative brings more security, transparency and generates revenue so that the State can reinvest these resources in social areas.
After accreditation of lottery operators, which is in the final phase, it is necessary to consider that those companies that do not sign a contract with Lottopar will be acting illegally.
Therefore, this international cooperation is of paramount importance to prevent non-accredited operators from operating on Paraná soil.
In this sense, considering the proximity of the start of operations, Lottopar officiated the lottery authorities of Colombia, Uruguay, Curaçao and Argentina to make a first contact, in order to block the sites that offer lottery services in Paraná, but that are not accredited for this.
In this way, foreign exchange and tax evasion is prevented. For Lottopar’s CEO, this contact with lotteries in other countries is essential.
“Not only with a view to strengthening ties, exchanging experiences and good practices. But, above all, to create a cooperation network that brings more security and transparency to companies and users of lottery games”, highlighted Daniel Romanowski.
“And, above all, to avoid the evasion of foreign exchange and taxes, causing these resources to be reinvested in social projects of the Government of Paraná”, he added.
Lottopar is part of the Ibero-American Lottery and Betting Corporation
Lottopar is a member of the Ibero-American Lottery and Betting Corporation (Cibelae). This association helps the Autarchy to strengthen ties with other state lotteries in 80 countries on six continents.
The objective is to share knowledge and experiences in areas such as responsible gaming, prevention of money laundering and social responsibility.
