Exclusivo: Leonardo Baptista avalia regulamentação e revela projeto de ‘PIX próprio’ da Pay4Fun.

The SBC Summit Barcelona 2023 started this Wednesday, the 20th, bringing together the main European operators. The iGaming Brazil portal is covering the event and spoke with Leonardo Baptista, CEO of Pay4Fun.

Baptista spoke about the importance of being in Barcelona again. “Barcelona is very important, last year was very good. This year it has grown, a lot of people coming to our space to chat.”

“Many large operators have passed through here. It’s always a pleasure to be in Barcelona with European operators. We will be at SBC Miami more focused on LATAM, it is important to be here with European operators”, he added.

Sports betting regulation bill

Leonardo Baptista analyzed the bill approved in the Chamber of Deputies that provides for the betting regulation in Brazil. He hopes that the tax will be reviewed in the Senate.

“What we talk about and feel about operators: everyone wants regulation. We, through the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming, are fighting for regulation. The only point that is difficult – we’ll see how it goes in the Senate – is the issue of taxes for both operators and bettors”.

“It’s not good for anyone. The bill approved in the Chamber is poorly designed, wrong and will not work even for the government. I think that now the senators have the knife and the cheese in their hands. Brazil is in a good position to do it in the best possible way. They are making a mistake, but it is time to correct it”, he added.

Pay4Fun´s PIX

According to the CEO of Pay4Fun, the company decided to postpone the expansion project and work on a PIX to call its own. “We are working on our own PIX. The idea is to have Pay4Fun PIX directly and next year we will open the doors to the Latin American market”, he concluded.
