SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, a modern sports betting platform, celebrates its third anniversary and shares industry analytical insights. The product team summarized the 2023 results and compared them to the previous two years.

Traditional sports brought no surprises. Three years in a row, the top three betting sports remain unchanged: Football, Tennis and Basketball.

In contrast, the esports scene exhibits steady growth, rising from 7th in 2021 to 4th in 2023. Notably, Counter-Strike stands out, ranking 6th among the top 10 disciplines by number of bets.

Alexander Kamenetskyi, Head of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, comments: “The strengthening of esports cannot go unnoticed. With the increasing integration of computer technology into our daily lives, this trend will only intensify.”

“So in early 2022 we started working with a dedicated esports data provider – Oddin.gg, and in August 2022 we partnered with Konstantin Leniniw Sivko, a Counter-Strike commentator.”

“I am optimistic that esports betting will continue to grow in popularity, and I suggest that our partners focus on this area,” he added.

Another notable trend in the sports betting scene highlighted by the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook team is the consistent growth in bets placed via mobile devices.

In 2023, 80% of bets were placed via mobile, compared to 70% in 2022 and 68% in 2021.

This trend solidifies as players increasingly opt for the convenience of mobile devices, especially in live betting scenarios.

Most importantly, it was mobile devices that contributed 92% to operators’ GGR (Gross Gaming Revenue).

Team focus on boosting matched betting

The SOFTSWISS Sportsbook team is focused on increasing the proportion of matched betting, recognizing its potential to boost partners’ profitability.

These bets are particularly favorable for traders as they provide higher margins and less frequent wins for bettors. According to statistics, the share of matched bets increased from 20% in 2021 to 45% in 2023.

This growth directly correlates with the intensification of matched betting promotion through bonus offers and the recent partnership with a new data provider, which expands the range of events available to players.

Alexander Kamenetskyi adds: “The main driver of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook’s success lies in our dedication to forging new connections with operators, resulting in a significant increase in the number of bets, trading volume and GGR.”

In the last year, we increased turnover by 351%, GGR by 451% and the number of bets by 558%.

The sustained year-over-year growth is a testament to my colleagues’ dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to innovation.

I sincerely thank the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook team for their exceptional contribution.”

This year, SOFTSWISS Sportsbook received the GLI-33 certification and MGA B2B license, a key milestone that opened doors for the platform to enter new regulated markets.
