An Italian media analysis explores why betting company Betsson could join forces with football team Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri are in the market for a new main sponsor as their contract with Paramount+ is set to expire at the end of the season.

Inter have set Betsson as their choice, with a final deal increasingly imminent.

The local press pointed to Qatar Airways as a possible new partner for the Italian Serie A club. However, Betsson appears to have outperformed the competition.

The Swedish gaming company has proposed a contract worth €30 million per season to the Nerazzurri over the next five years.

In a recent edition of Tuttosport, it is revealed why Betsson identified Inter as an ideal commercial partner.

Betsson’s interest in Inter

Under the command of Simone Inzaghi, the team is well on its way to winning the Italian Championship title. Additionally, they are scheduled to participate in the UEFA Champions League and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup next season.

These factors are all plausible arguments as to why Betsson is seeking a partnership with the Italian football club.

The group would have the opportunity to promote itself on the biggest stages of European and global football. Recently, Betsson announced the launch of its new platform in Italy.

Entry into the Italian market could be an indication that an agreement with the Nerazzurri is close.

However, the question remains as to whether local regulations will allow Inter Milan to display the Betsson name and logo on their shirts.

This would only be viable if the government repealed the Dignity Decree, which currently prevents advertising by betting companies.
