Kambi Group has announced that Werner Becher will be the new CEO, replacing Kristian Nylén. Becher is former CEO of Interwetten and head of Sportradar. He will take up the role on July 25, the day after Kambi’s Q2 2024 report is published.
Becher’s hiring follows Nylén’s January announcement of his departure. He promised continued support to ensure a smooth transition. In May, Nylén was elected to the Kambi Board of Directors during the annual general meeting.
Experience and expectations
Becher’s choice was made by the company’s Board. Therefore, with extensive experience in the sports betting and technology sector, he will take charge of Kambi in his next period.
The new CEO will be responsible for the development and positioning of Kambi in the sports betting market. Recently, Kambi adopted a modularization strategy: opening up its platform, expanding its AI and Tzeract pricing division. Additionally, purchase Abios and Shape Games.
Werner Becher expressed his honor upon taking on the role, highlighting his respect and admiration for the company.
“I am honored to take on the role of CEO at Kambi Group. It is a company that has been at the forefront of this industry for many years and for which I have the greatest respect and admiration”, he said.
“I join Kambi at an exciting time in its evolution as it continues to open up its services and broaden its addressable market.
I am excited to work closely with the Board, our executive team and our talented employees around the world to deliver the fantastic opportunities that lie ahead,” added Becher.
