On July 11th, the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (SPA/MF) published Ordinance No. 1,143/2024. Ordinance 1,143/2024 defines policies, procedures and internal controls to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing and other illicit activities. It requires betting operators to obtain authorization and use the Financial Activities Control System (Siscoaf), in addition to implementing strict internal policies to combat these practices.
