Television is the main medium for betting advertisements, with 42% of players being impacted. Instagram and digital influencers follow, influencing 33% and 19%, respectively.

In the case of betting, the study highlights a balance between the factors that influence players. The list includes recommendations from friends and family (32%), reputation of bookmakers (31%) and sponsorship by betting brands of football teams (31%).

Online casinos

Among online casinos, 69% of respondents are users of Jogo do Tigrinho. This group is the one that spends the most money and time on betting. The survey showed that 50% of users spend between R$200 and R$500 on this platform.

And who doesn’t bet? The research also heard testimonies from people not involved in the betting. Thus, among the reasons, 44% of respondents stated that they do not play because they do not trust the gaming systems.

Betting regulations in Brazil

It is worth noting that the regulation of online betting will come into force from January 1, 2025, with the Betting Management System (SIGAP) registering 113 license requests from 108 companies.

Regis Dudena, Secretary of Prizes and Bets at the Treasury, highlighted that the number of orders exceeded market expectations. For Dudena, this demonstrates confidence in the proposed regulation and positions Brazil as one of the largest markets in the world.

“The Ministry of Treasury has been working intensely on regulation and has established strict criteria to protect bettors and rules for the market. The sector responded positively, showing that there are many serious companies that intend to operate in compliance with the legislation, which is the best way to meet the personal, social and economic needs of the activity.”, reported Dudena.
