IBJR reaffirms commitment to regulation and responsible practices

The Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR), which brings together the main gaming and betting operators in Brazil, issued an official position this Thursday (26). The entity reaffirms its commitment to transparency, responsibility and regulatory compliance.

Next, it should be noted that its members represent around 70% of the betting market in the country. Furthermore, everyone has already formally submitted their licensing requests and demonstrates alignment with legal requirements.

IBJR-affiliated operators have made an important decision. In dialogue with the Ministry of Treasury, they voluntarily banned the use of credit cards on their platforms.

Although this modality represents only 0.5% of deposits, the measure aims to mitigate financial risks. At the same time, it seeks to reinforce a more responsible experience for users.

In the statement, IBJR emphasizes that it firmly believes in regulation. On the one hand, it is the most efficient way to face challenges. On the other hand, it guarantees the protection of consumers and the State. The association is willing to contribute with solutions. Therefore, formalizing requests for meetings with government bodies.

Among the bodies are the Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce, Central Bank, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Development. Furthermore, these meetings aim to clarify important aspects and data about the market.

“Our objective is to ensure that the sector is regulated in a fair and balanced manner, guaranteeing consumer protection and market integrity, without compromising its development”, says the official note.
