In the second half of October, the Eightroom Vpag Group held internal training with in-person and remote participation from its marketing, commercial, finance, compliance and product teams.
The training aimed to guide its employees on regulatory issues related to the iGaming industry in Brazil. The initiative lasted three days and addressed different regulatory aspects. Firstly, it focused on complying with responsible gaming requirements.
Then it was about membership and payments. Finally, he discussed other legal and commercial aspects. All of these topics are necessary to strengthen the company’s operations in the Brazilian regulated market.
First day of training
On the first day, the workshop focused on measures aimed at marketing, advertising and promoting responsible gambling. The newly created Eightroom Vpag Integrity Committee sought to list and exemplify the guidelines in Annex X of CONAR. Furthermore, it established flows and processes for correct alignment with these standards.
At the same time, the Committee also focused on the responsible gaming policies of Ordinance 1,231 of the Prizes and Betting Secretariat. Consequently, these actions reinforced the company’s commitment to ethics and integrity in operators’ advertising throughout the country.
Julia Alves, Group Compliance Officer, summarized the initiative by saying: “The workshop was important to align our team on the new guidelines for bookmaker advertising.
In addition to being an opportunity to meet, clarify and expose the changes we are going through in this industry, it was an opportunity to reaffirm with all our employees our commitment to the ethics and integrity of our company.”
The workshops focused on consolidation in the financial market. Furthermore, they addressed the fundamental role of Vpag and Pay in the group’s expansion strategies.
Eightroom Vpag Group obtains license from the Central Bank
In August 2024, Pay, part of the Eightroom Group, obtained a license from the Central Bank of Brazil (BACEN), becoming a Payment Institution (IP). This milestone consolidated the company’s position in the financial market and in the iGaming sector. Consequently, it has ensured that its operations are in full compliance with the country’s requirements.
Then, the next two days of the workshop were dedicated to the financial market. In this context, industry experts offered in-depth insight into best practices. Additionally, they addressed the interconnectivity of the Brazilian payments arrangement.
And for this, The Sharp Fintech Consultoria, represented by experts Luciano Fantin, Aciane Marino and Manoel Jordão, provided training that has helped Eightroom Vpag to navigate smoothly in the highly regulated environment of the Central Bank.
Employees were trained in the performance of the financial system and risk management mechanisms, essential to guarantee the sustainability of the group’s operations. The inclusion of Vpag and Pay as new products in Eightroom’s range of solutions was highlighted as a strategic step.
This movement involves the same level of diligence required of traditional banking institutions, reinforcing the importance of robust financial management in compliance with regulations.
Focus on compliance
On the third and final day the focus was on compliance, a critical topic for both the payments and iGaming sectors. Participants addressed topics such as: the main challenges faced by the industry and the measures necessary to ensure customer safety and compliance with current regulations.
Thus, case studies were analyzed to reinforce the need for constant adaptation to market changes.
Regarding these days focused on the financial market and compliance, Pay’s Commercial Director, Bernardo Bicarano, stated: “We brought together employees from the entire group to prepare for what lies ahead, considering the scenario in which we operate within the wings of BACEN.
This moment is crucial. Because it serves as a learning and alignment between the teams and the main debate for what we want to achieve in the future and how we aim to structure our team according to the group’s dreams.”
In addition to training, the group is also preparing to participate in SBC Miami 2024, which will take place between October 29th and 31st. The event is recognized as an important platform for networking and business expansion in the iGaming sector. Eightroom Vpag has a constant presence at the industry’s main global events.
