The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released the state’s financial results for the gaming market in January 2025, iGaming was highlighted.
In total, revenue for the month reached US$529.1 million, an increase of 10.9% compared to 2024. By operator, the biggest winner was the Valley Forge Casino Resort, with US$97.8 million, an increase of 6.5% for the year. By gaming segment, the biggest highlight was retail slots, with US$187.8 million, an increase of 4.6%.
Revenue by Segment in Pennsylvania – iGaming
According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, casino games offered online in Pennsylvania, which include online slots, tables and poker, brought in a total of $210.2 million in January.
Of these, online slots generated US$158.6 million, a considerable increase of 44.2%; more than any other gaming segment in the Keystone State.
Earning the most in slots and table games, and the second largest in online poker, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported the highest combined iGaming revenue in Pennsylvania in January, earning $79.7 million, an increase of 57.9%.
This was also the second highest growth rate for the year among operators, with Golden Nugget coming out on top with revenue up 251.7% — even though its revenue only totaled $7.3 million.
Valley Forge Casino Resort was the second biggest earner from iGaming. With US$41.4 million in slots and US$16.2 million in tables, it generated a total of US$57.6 million, an increase of 38.5%.
iPoker’s biggest winner in January was Mount Airy Casino Resort, which raised $1.4 million. This represented 36% of the operators’ total US$3.8 million.
26% drop in sports betting
Sports betting revenue reached $51.5 million, down 26.4% compared to 2024. This was the most significant reduction in revenue among gaming verticals in the Keystone State.
Of that total, $49.2 million came from online sports betting, while the remaining $2.3 million came from retail betting. Furthermore, Valley Forge Casino Resort was the highest earner in this segment in January, earning US$28.8 million.
In fact, most sports betting operators reported year-over-year revenue declines, with just three operators, all of whom earned a combined total of less than $1 million, pointing to growth.
Of the five operators that recorded more than $1 million in combined revenue, Parx Casino faced the steepest decline, down 35.2% to $1.1 million. On the other hand, the smallest reduction among the five was recorded by Hollywood Casino Morgantown, down 3.7% to US$3.4 million.

In terms of growth, the biggest jump in year-over-year revenue was reported by Golden Nugget. With revenue rising from $2.1 million to $7.4 million, an increase of 251.7%. The second highest growth rate came from Presque Isle Downs and Casino at 55.8%, earning $9.3 million.
