São Raimundo-AM released a statement in which it claims to have received “evidence of a possible scheme to manipulate results involving games in the Amazonense Championship“.
According to information from the local press and confirmed by the board, São Raimundo did not reveal which games would be played. However, the club forwarded the information to the police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office so that the facts could be investigated.
According to the text published on the Amazonian club’s social media, on March 23, São Raimundo also affirms the team’s commitment to sport.
Furthermore, it highlights that the club is completely against any practice that compromises the fairness and ethics of football.

“São Raimundo Esporte Clube informs that the board of directors has received evidence of a possible betting scheme involving matches of the Amazonense Football Championship. Given the seriousness of the situation, the information has already been forwarded to the competent authorities, including the Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, so that the facts can be rigorously investigated.
We reaffirm our commitment to the integrity of the sport and make it clear that São Raimundo is completely against any practice that compromises fairness and ethics in football. We will continue to monitor the investigations and trust that the appropriate measures will be taken.

São Raimundo-AM failed to advance to the second phase in either of the two rounds of the Amazonense Championship this season. Despite this, they still have a chance of advancing to the knockout stages of the return leg.
In the last match (18), the team faced Amazonas. But they lost 3-0, all three goals were scored by the rival in the first half.
