The Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and Siga Sports Latin America signed, this Wednesday (26), a cooperation agreement to strengthen transparency and the fight against corruption in sport.

The signing took place at the headquarters of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris.

The objective is to share experiences and technologies to promote corporate compliance and encourage companies in the sector to join the Brazil Pact for Corporate Integrity.

Parceria formalizada entre CGU e SIGA

The Minister of CGU, Vinícius Marques de Carvalho, and the global CEO of the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, formalized the partnership.

According to Carvalho, “we expect this partnership to foster the adoption of transparency and integrity measures in the sports sector, with concrete actions between institutions to assist players in the sector and companies and entities engaged in this important issue.”

SIGA acts as an independent coalition that seeks to implement high standards of governance and sports integrity. The agreement signed provides for the creation of policies, regulations, guides and projects that encourage adherence to the Brazil Pact for Business Integrity.

Furthermore, it also includes the development of compliance programs aimed at the sports sector.

Commitment to integrity and ethics in sport

During the event, SIGA Sports Latin America also formalized its entry as an institutional supporter of the Pacto Brasil pela Integridade Empresarial. With this, the organization reinforces its commitment to promoting ethics and integrity in the sports sector.
