One of the winners of Mega da Virada 2024, which drew a historic prize of R$635 million, has not yet claimed the prize. However, Caixa Econômica Federal announced that the deadline to claim the money ends this Monday, the 31st.
According to Caixa, one bet has not yet been withdrawn, as of last Friday, the 28th. It is a pool made in Osasco, Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, and has not yet been withdrawn. The lucky person who has not yet received their money has R$1,418,495.90 waiting.
The deadline to withdraw any lottery prize is 90 days according to Caixa’s rules. Therefore, since the Mega da Virada draw took place on December 31, the winner has until today, March 31, to go to a bank branch to withdraw the prize.
If the amount is not withdrawn, the prize expires and the money is transferred to the Student Financing Fund (Fies). The draw for contest 2810 had the following numbers drawn: 01, 17, 19, 29, 50 and 57.
As reported by Caixa, the main prize was divided between eight bets: one from Osasco (SP), two bets from Brasília (DF); two from Curitiba (PR), one from Nova Lima (MG), one from Pinhais (PR) and one from Tupã (SP).
Chances of winning the Mega da Virada
The probability of winning the Mega da Virada varies according to the number of numbers played. With a bet of six numbers, the chance of winning the top prize is 1 in over 50 million. With 20 numbers, the chances increase to 1 in every 1,292.
