On Monday, March 31, SPORTEL Miami 2025 kicked off in style, with activities that continue today. On the first day, registrants picked up their badges between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. In the evening, the opening party took place at the JW Marriott pool area from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 1st, at 8:30 am, participants were welcomed with a breakfast at the F&B Lounge. The networking activity, essential to the event, promoted the exchange of ideas among the professionals present.
Then, at 9:40 a.m., Laurent Puons, SPORTEL’s Managing Director, officially opened the event with an inspiring speech at the Speakers Corner. As he said: “Welcome to SPORTEL Miami 2025!”
Panels and masterclass on April 1st
The morning continued with a panel entitled “The American Dream: A Media Hub for Major Sporting Events”, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The debate brought together international executives who discussed the importance of Miami as a host for global and emerging events, due to its cutting-edge infrastructure.
At 10:35 a.m., the “From Archive to Opportunity – The Power of Historical Content” session explored strategies for revitalizing archived content and improving fan engagement. Greg Maratea, Director of Global Solutions at Iron Mountain, emphasized how modernizing these archives opens up new revenue opportunities.
In addition, the morning featured coffee breaks, encouraging more interaction among attendees. The program also highlighted “The AI Revolution in Sports Content,” discussing innovations driven by artificial intelligence, such as automatic match highlights and real-time translation.
In the afternoon, the event continued with the masterclass “It All Starts with Data: The Untapped Gold”, which addressed the importance of understanding every detail of the information for monetization and adaptation in the dynamic sports environment. The panel discussed the monetization of experiences using immersive technologies and digital platforms.
