Clube de Regatas do Flamengo beat Grêmio 2-0 last Sunday in the third round of the Brazilian Championship, displaying its master sponsorship from Flabet. This display was made possible after the Federal Court of the Federal District granted an injunction in favor of the club.
Context of the injunction involving Pixbet
The injunction, issued on Saturday, suspended the effects of Ordinance No. 787/2025 of the Ministry of Treasury, which, on the previous Friday, had removed four betting houses, including Pixbet, a supporter of Flamengo.
The suspension occurred due to the ministerial requirement for four technical certificates. While three certificates were delivered in February, the fourth, related to integration, was filed on April 10, exceeding the original deadline. In view of this, Pixbet filed a writ of mandamus.
Nelson Wilians, Pixbet’s lawyer, stated: “With the delivery of all certificates, even if one was late, compliance with the requirement was evident. No penalty can be applied when there is good faith and complete regularization of the obligation.
With this, the company is once again authorized to explore the fixed-odds betting modality, in accordance with the injunction granted.”
The injunction, signed by Judge Anderson Santos da Silva, highlighted that the ministerial order aimed to guarantee technical security in operations, and not to penalize for unjustified delays. In addition, the decision considered the immediate economic impact on the club’s sponsorship contract.
Flamengo displays the ‘Flabet’
Flamengo had already displayed the “Flabet” brand, belonging to the same company, in a recent Libertadores match against Central Córdoba.
“It is possible to extract from the text of § 2 of art. 3 of Ordinance SPA/MF No. 2,104 that the suspension of the provisional authorization seeks to prevent the exploration of the fixed-odds lottery betting modality ‘without the necessary certification”.
The excerpt from the decision clarified that, after the presentation of the certification, even if untimely, companies could resume their economic activities.

In addition to Pixbet, three other companies were suspended: TQJ-Par Participações Societárias S.A., 7MBR LTDA, and Caixa Loterias S.A. These entities were also mentioned and benefited from the court’s decision.
Pixbet became Flamengo‘s master sponsor at the end of 2024, signing the largest contract in the club’s history. This agreement guarantees Flamengo up to R$470 million over four years, with the end scheduled for 2027.
