The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported that gaming revenue fell in March 2025. The US state collected $1.28 billion, representing a 1.1% decline compared to the same period last year.

This negative result follows the movement of the fiscal year, which also shows a 1.1% drop in the accumulated total. The figures highlight a scenario of oscillation in the sector, marked by uneven performance between the regions of Nevada.

Nevada Gaming Analysis by Region

The Las Vegas Strip saw a significant drop in its March 2025 results. Revenue generated in the main tourist region fell 4.8% year-over-year, directly impacting statewide results. Despite this, downtown Las Vegas saw growth of 11.6% compared to March 2024.

Areas such as Reno, located in Washoe County, saw a 10.9% increase. Other smaller regions, including Mesquite and the Boulder Strip, saw modest but consistent growth.

Reduction in the collection of percentage fees

The sum collected in percentage rates in the state totaled US$ 79.3 million in April 2025, marking a reduction of 8.3% compared to US$ 86.5 million in April 2024. Even so, the accumulated tax collection for the year showed growth of 0.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Despite the decline, observed both on the Las Vegas Strip and in the state as a whole in March 2025, the progress in areas such as downtown Las Vegas, Reno and Mesquite stands out. It is important to highlight how these results fit into the sector’s historical series.

In December 2024, Nevada gaming revenue reached $1.46 billion, with the Strip declining by 2.7%. In February 2025, Nevada reported $1.22 billion in gaming revenue, with the Las Vegas Strip declining by 14%.
