This Thursday, the 14th, at 9pm, Brazil will face Colombia at the Metropolitano Stadium, in Barranquilla, in the fifth round of the Qualifiers. Despite the defeat to Uruguay, which hadn’t happened in 22 years, the team is still seen as the favorite in the bookmakers.

The direct confrontation between third place, Brazil, and fifth place, Colombia, promises strong emotions. Colombia, in turn, comes from a last FIFA date with two draws against Uruguay and Ecuador, which left them in a complicated situation in the qualifiers.

Direct clashes between Brazil and Colombia

Historically, the Brazilian team has a clear dominance over Colombia, with 21 victories in direct confrontations, against just three from the Colombians, in addition to 11 draws.

The team’s last defeat to Colombia was in the 2015 Copa América, when Dunga’s men lost by a goal difference.

In this match, our team will have important absences, with Neymar and Ederson out for medical reasons.

However, the team has the presence of young striker Endrick, a Palmeiras standout and future Real Madrid player, a new addition to the squad.

In addition to Endrick, striker João Pedro, ex-Fluminense, Paulinho, one of Atlético Mineiro’s highlights this season, and Pepe from Porto are the new additions.
