New general coordinator of Sanctioned Action of the Prizes and Betting Secretariat appointed

The Ministry of Finance continues to make adjustments to the structure of the Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA). The appointment of the new general coordinator of Sanctioned Action for the municipality is included in the Official Gazette of the Union this Friday (22).

The specialist in Public Policies and Government Management, Vanessa Meireles Barreto was appointed to the role. The ordinance was signed by Simone Vicentini, current Substitute Secretary of Prizes and Bets.

“SPA/MF PERSONNEL ORDINANCE No. 788, OF MARCH 13, 2024

THE REPLACEMENT SECRETARY OF PRIZES AND BETS, in the use of the powers conferred on him by art. 10 of MF Ordinance No. 267, of April 26, 2023, published in the Official Gazette of the Union of April 27, 2023, and other information contained in SEI Process No. 19995.001613/2024-12, resolves:

Art. 1 Appoint VANESSA MEIRELES BARRETO, Specialist in Public Policies and Government Management, Siape registration no. 1353717, to exercise the Executive Commissioned Function of General Coordinator of Sanctioning Action, code FCE 1.13, of the Subsecretariat of Sanctioning Action of the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets of the Ministry of Finance.

Art. 2 This Ordinance comes into force on the date of its publication.

It is worth noting that the Subsecretariat for Sanctioning Action is responsible for judging Administrative Sanctioning Processes in the first instance, according to the established legal limits and powers, as well as analyzing requests for reconsideration and review related to these processes.

Creation of the Betting and Prizes Secretariat

The Betting and Prizes Secretariat was created on January 31st of this year through Decree No. 11,907.

According to the terms, the new secretariat will be responsible for authorizing, allowing and granting, regulating, standardizing, monitoring, supervising, inspecting and sanctioning the segments of free distribution of prizes for the purpose of advertising, advance collection of popular savings, betting fixed quota and all types of lotteries.

In addition, the decree also includes sweepstakes and other types of lotteries carried out by horse racing promoters.
