With the end of the 2020 national football season, Santos ended up losing some sponsorship contracts. With an agreement until the end of February, the Casa de Apostas has stopped being exposed in Santos uniform, which is now looking for new partners.
According to a report by Gazeta Esportiva, the club already saw the value offered by the sports betting company as low, even due to the expansion of the segment and fierce competition. In this way, the board is looking for a new partner brand to occupy the vacant space on the scapula of the shirt.
In addition, Unicesumar chose not to expand its relationship with Alvinegro Praiano. In this case, the club managed to close a new agreement with the STX involving both the front and the back of the shorts. Thus, the value of the contract went up by about 30%.
Santos hopes to announce new master sponsor in the coming weeks
The club is also without a master sponsor. However, the board claims that it has at least two offers to be analyzed. The perspective is that interested companies will formalize the proposals by the end of March.
“Santos really have been suffering for a long time and find it difficult. The market, with the pandemic, decreased the value. Santos tried to make it available with value previously practiced. There’s no way, the level has decreased. Master is important, but we cannot vulgarize it ”, said President Andres Rueda, to TV Santa Cecília.
Rueda added: “We have to associate Santos’ strong brand with a strong brand in the market. If we wanted to close a smaller sponsor, we would already have it, but we have standards. Master sponsorship helped a lot before, nowadays it’s important, but hey, if you manage to pay half a month’s paycheck, it’s more than reasonable within what the market practices ”.
Among the other commercial partners, Santos has only one contract that ends in the middle of the year, while the others extend until December.
