For the first time, Brazil will be represented on the panel of judges of the Sports Awards 2021.

Ana Xisdê, elected Best Caster 2019 at the eSports Brasil Award, will be the only Brazilian and will have, as one of the main objectives, nominating Brazilian and Latin American names for the award.

The news was officially announced on the event’s website and Ana will have the role of nominating names and defending why they deserve to be nominated in the various categories of eSports. The choice for a Brazilian judge was the tournament’s quest to internationalize more of the nominees, who had been mostly Americans.

In 2020, she was among the Esports Awards nominations for best esports presenter of the year after her performance in the Brazilian League of Free Fire. Previously, she had stints at Blizzard as a narrator and presenter of official Overwatch tournaments.

In an interview with START, Ana reveals about her role on the jury:

“I am very happy to know that, even in the categories already open to the public, I was able to bring names that the judges did not know and that were considered and became finalists. All of this does not guarantee that we will be represented in everything or that we will win anything, but we can sleep more peacefully knowing our voice is being heard”.

Ana also told about her participation, which takes into account those nominated by the public and adds other names in periodic meetings throughout the year, all the jurors indicate the names, the most voted are finalists and then winners.

Nominations have yet to come to an end, with unannounced categories among popular vote and jury vote. The awards will take place on November 20th.
