EstrelaBet, the master sponsor of Criciúma Esporte Clube, held a sports integrity workshop. The event was held in partnership with Sportradar, a global leader in sports technology and betting monitoring.

The initiative brought together athletes from the professional team, as well as directors and technical staff from the Santa Catarina club. The workshop was held on Wednesday (26), at the club‘s headquarters, in Criciúma (SC).

The action is part of a set of recurring measures promoted by EstrelaBet with its sponsors. The objective is to reinforce the company‘s commitment to preventing match-fixing and integrity in sports.

Sportradar conducted the training with a focus on educating athletes about the risks of match-fixing. However, the company operates globally in more than 80 countries. During the event, experts discussed the methods used by fraudsters and the legal and sporting consequences involved.

For Frederico Gabrich, CLO (Chief Legal Officer) at EstrelaBet, the action is essential for a safer sporting environment.

“The initiative reinforces our commitment to integrity in sport. Working on issues such as match-fixing with teams is essential to protect all athletes, clubs, championships and also the betting market.”

“Clear and objective information is one of the tools to guarantee a safe and transparent sports environment”, says Frederico Gabrich.

Topics such as types of fraud and manipulation on the agenda of EstrelaBet Criciúma

During the workshop, topics such as what match fixing is and how it occurs were covered, as well as the different types of fraud and ways to approach match fixers. As well as the risks of involvement in illegal betting and how professionals should act when faced with suspicious proposals.

“For Criciúma, it is essential that our athletes and coaching staff are prepared to recognize risk situations and know how to act in the face of any attempt at manipulation. We greatly value this initiative and thank EstrelaBet and Sportradar for bringing such relevant content to our reality”, highlights Carlos Fernandes, executive director of Criciúma Esporte Clube.

“It was very gratifying to see the interest of the Criciúma athletes during the presentation. Education and awareness are essential to protect the sport and combat practices such as match-fixing, which are detrimental to everyone involved,” says Felippe Marchetti, Integrity Partnerships Manager at Sportradar in Brazil.

Action values EstrelaBet’s sporting integrity

The initiative is part of EstrelaBet’s structured policy for sports integrity, aligned with current regulations and global best practices. In addition, the company has an internal area dedicated to compliance and integrity, with robust controls and the use of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, the company uses methods to monitor and identify suspicious activities related to match-fixing.
