The Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Treasury (SPA-MF) released the list of betting sites that may continue to operate in Brazil until the end of this year.
The list was created based on SPA/MF Ordinance No. 1,475, with the aim of considering only those companies that requested authorization through the Betting Management System (Sigap) in the adaptation phase to the new rules, demonstrating that they are interested. to properly follow the regulations.
Treasury announces list of national and state bookmakers
SPA-MF also notified the 26 states and the Federal District asking them to send lists of authorized companies at the state level. The information sent to date by responding states has been included in the list.
In the national list, there are 89 companies with 193 bets (brands) respectively. The list of states has six companies with six bets respectively.
Sites that are not on the list published by the Treasury can no longer offer bets nationwide. They will remain on the air for the next ten days, only to facilitate the return, by bettors, of the money that is deposited in their names with these companies.
From October 11th, these sites will begin to be taken down, with the help of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). SPA-MF will be responsible for monitoring and adopting the necessary measures to comply with the new ordinance.
At the end of this transition period, which runs until December, the Ministry of Finance’s agency will publish the definitive list of companies and websites that will be authorized to operate from January 1, 2025, when the regulated betting market will begin on Brazil.
However, new authorization requests can be made at any time. SPA/MF has up to 150 days to provide feedback.
