The DataSenado Institute will present, next Wednesday (23), at 11 am, the results of a national survey on the regulation of responsible gaming and integrated resorts in Brazil.
This event will take place in the Blue Room of the Federal Senate, next to the entrance to the Time Tunnel. Senator Irajá (PSD/TO), responsible for requesting the study, will be present at the location.
The initiative seeks to provide concrete data to support discussions surrounding Bill 2,234/2022. This bill was approved by the Chamber of Deputies in March 2022 and is now awaiting analysis in the Federal Senate.
This legislative proposal addresses the authorization and regulation of various types of games, including casinos, bingo halls, jogo do bicho and integrated resorts, topics that have remained without legal definition in the country for decades.
Research methodology on games in Brazil
Between February 21 and March 1, 2025, DataSenado conducted telephone interviews with 5,039 Brazilian citizens aged 16 and over.
The survey followed a proportional distribution across all federative units, adopting random and stratified sampling to ensure national representation and statistical reliability.
All questionnaires used were reviewed and approved in advance by the Institute’s technical team. In addition, the interviews were subjected to auditing processes, verifying essential aspects such as the clarity of the questions, the correct marking of the answers and the neutrality during the application.
Importance for the legislative debate
For Senator Irajá, this study provides a solid basis for public debate. Senator Irajá explained: “The regulation of gaming is a strategic issue, with great potential for economic transformation, especially in the tourism sector.
We requested this survey from DataSenado precisely to have a faithful portrait of the opinion of Brazilians and, with this, support the actions of the National Congress with responsibility and transparency.”
This research represents an important step towards understanding how the Brazilian population views the possible legalization of these activities.
Furthermore, it provides legislators with valuable information for decision-making. The regulation of gambling is a complex issue that involves significant economic, social and cultural aspects for national development.
