About Loterj
The Rio de Janeiro State Lottery is an autarchy of the State Government of Rio de Janeiro linked to the State Secretariat of the Civil House, responsible for the administration, management and inspection of the game in all municipalities of the State.
After the prohibition of casinos, federal and state lotteries became the official gambling alternative in Brazil. The “Lottery of Numbers” appears as a result of Decree-Law No. 6,259, by President Getúlio Vargas. He created the “Serviço de Loterias”, which provided for the exploitation of this type of game by federal and state lotteries.
In 1991, Loterj introduced itself to the market as a pioneer in the commercialization of a new type of game, the Instant Lottery, better known as Raspadinha, with the Lambada da Sorte game.
Rio received the game very well, which to date has sold around 1 billion tickets, having even reached the mark of 4 million tickets sold in just one day at that time.
