The Government of the City of Buenos Aires, through its gaming administration agency LOTBA (Lottery of the City of Buenos Aires) approved the Online Platform Implementation Program presented by Codere.
This is the first step in the process of obtaining the license that will allow the company’s online offer in this jurisdiction, with Codere being the first company to achieve this advance.
The authorization process in the City of Buenos Aires was opened on February 20 and, since then, a team from the Codere Group, started to work “in the elaboration of the project with great responsibility, and in the midst of the complex context of health crisis, presenting its proposal at the beginning of May ”, appears in the official statement of the company.
“For Codere, it is important to have reached this first milestone for obtaining a license in the City of Buenos Aires, one of the main jurisdictions and with the greatest potential in the country, being the first company to reach it of all those who applied”, follows the note.
Bernardo Chena, Codere América Latina regional manager (except Mexico), commented that “this shows the strength of the group, the quality of its offer and the viability of Codere’s online expansion project in Latin America”.
He added: “It should be noted that the regulatory framework of the City of Buenos Aires meets the most advanced international standards regarding responsible gambling, player guarantees and protection of vulnerable groups. A perfect fit for the objectives that the Codere Group promotes in all the countries in which it operates ”.
Expansion of Codere in Latin America
The next stage of the process requires the execution of the operational tasks necessary for the production of the systems, development and integration of certain components of the platform, which allow the commercialization and distribution of the games included in the approved application. “Tasks that our dedicated team is already working on,” concluded Chena.
Codere strengthens its operations in Argentina, where it started its activity almost 30 years ago and is currently the largest operator of games rooms in the Province of Buenos Aires, with 13 rooms and more than 6,850 machines.
An advance with which the company also promotes its online business expansion strategy in Latin America, where the group already operates in Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay and Panama, offering a wide portfolio of products and services adapted to each market.
