Sportradar appoints Jeffery Yabuki as chairman of its Global Council

Sportradar, a provider of sports betting and entertainment services, announced that Jeffery Yabuki has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sportradar Holding AG (“Global”).

After the recent reorganization, where the company has changed to a more regionalized approach, the addition of Yabuki to the Global Board of Directors reaffirms its position of reference in the worldwide data and technology segment.

Yabuki joins Carsten Koerl (global CEO), Hafiz Lalani of the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Council (CPPIB), John Doran, Chuck Robel, Marc Walder, Hervé Couturier and George Fleet on the Board of the Sportradar Group.

Yabuki most recently served as executive chairman of Fiserv, a financial services and payment technology company that carries out banking, commercial, and secure cash movements between financial institutions, businesses, and consumers.

Prior to serving as executive chairman, Yabuki was executive director from 2005 to 2020. During his tenure, Yabuki led the company to a significant transformation, nearly tripled its revenue and delivered a 969% total return to shareholders.

“We are excited to welcome Jeff to the Sportradar team. Its extraordinary leadership, strategic approach and business acumen have propelled Fiserv to become a global leader in financial services and payments technology, ”said Sportradar Group CEO Carsten Koerl.

Koerl added, “We look forward to having Jeff as chairman of our Global Board of Directors as we continue to deliver unparalleled experiences to our customers and partners.”

Prior to joining Fiserv, Yabuki spent six years at H&R Block, where he was chief operating officer and held leadership positions at American Express for more than 10 years. Today, Yabuki serves on the Board of Directors of the Royal Bank of Canada and Ixonia Bancshares.

“As a global provider of sports data intelligence, Sportradar has achieved remarkable growth and is well prepared for the future,” said Yabuki.

The new Chairman of the Board further stated that “I am honored to join the Global Council to partner with Carsten and Sportradar’s incredibly talented leadership team to create value in the combination of sports entertainment and technology leadership.”
