Entain, in partnership with Verizon Media, is developing a new immersive virtual reality (VR) sportsbook and gaming experience that will be tested later this year.
The new product will be available for free on the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset, allowing people to explore various VR sports games. This immersive experience will allow customers to play individually and with friends.
“We continually offer our customers a wide range of innovative and exciting experiences, and VR is an incredible opportunity for us to innovate in countless ways,” said Sandeep Tiku, COO of Entain.
Tiku added: “The aim is to blend sports, entertainment and different types of exciting games into one product, offering customers a wide variety of new and exciting things to enjoy.”
Many of the new features will be revealed at launch, but will include: live streaming of football matches; experiences that allow fans to set fantasy lineups in virtual reality and play different sports games virtually with friends.
Fans will also have immersive experiences with music and bands, showcasing Entain’s ambitions to introduce and lead a new form of interaction with sports and entertainment.
