With the current situation of the war in Ukraine and with the focus on people and entities in the betting sector, the organization of the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS) decided to take a different approach towards Russian entrepreneurs and companies.
Instead of blocking all Russian companies and business people from entering the event, BiS will donate 100% of the income generated by people from that country to the International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC. The organization of the event believes that, in this way, it would be possible to generate a positive impact with the participation of Russians in BiS.
Alessandro Valente, president of BiS, comments: “Our objective is not to punish the Russian businessman and people, but to use resources that we may obtain from these sources, in favor of a humanitarian cause that directly affects human beings”.
The ICRC is a humanitarian organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, and three times awarded the Nobel Prize (in 1917, 1944 and 1963).
States Parties (signatories) to the 1949 Geneva Convention and its 1977 Additional Protocols (Protocol I, Protocol II) have given the ICRC a mandate to protect victims of international and internal armed conflict. Such victims include war wounded, prisoners, refugees, civilians and other non-combatants.
The Brazilian iGaming Summit 2022 is confirmed for the 28th, 29th and 30th of June
The first edition of the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS) – The iGaming Intelligence Made in Brazil took place on December 1st and 2nd, 2021, in São Paulo, achieving huge media repercussions and bringing together the main players on the world stage.
In addition to providing the first and only in-person meeting of the community in Brazil in 2021, the event entered the history of the segment by becoming the largest in the betting and gaming industry ever organized in the country.
Thus, the holding of a new conference in 2022 was confirmed shortly after the end of BiS 2021. Now, the organization of the largest betting event in the country is announcing the date of the second edition.
With the success of companies and participants in the first edition of the event, BiS 2022 will gain another day and will be held on June 28, 29 and 30, again in the city of São Paulo (SP), at Espaço Boulevard JK.
