About Portuguesa
The Portuguese Sports Association (initially the Portuguese Sports Association) was founded on August 14, 1920, after the merger of five Portuguese clubs in the city of São Paulo: Luzíadas Futebol Club, Associação 5 de Outubro, Esporte Club Lusitano, Associação Athletic Marquis of Pombal and Portugal Marinhense.
With a tradition of revealing great players, Portuguesa already housed names like Ivair, Orlando, Ditão and Félix in the 60s, and Enéas, Badeco, Cabinho and Basílio, heroes of the 1973 São Paulo title.
Already installed in Canindé, Lusa maintained its tradition of revealing great players, such as Edu Marangon, Dener, Zé Roberto and Rodrigo Fabri. Of the most recent achievements, Lusa won the Brazilian Championship in 1996 and enchanted Brazil with Barcelusa in 2011, in the title of the 2011 B Series until 2020, when it celebrates its 100th anniversary.
