A BetMGM bookmaker is being built near the Arizona Cardinals State Farm Stadium in Glendale. Super Bowl 57 is scheduled to be played at the stadium in 2023 and the March Madness Four final will also be played there in April 2024.
Remember that legal sports betting was released on September 9 in Arizona, the first day of the NFL season. The Arizona Gaming Department will not share the first sports betting reports and statistics until mid-November.
But Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill said punters have shown great interest in betting on games since opening day. “There was some early news that a bookmaker would be built inside the stadium, but it’s actually outside it, easily accessible to fans and sports bettors 365 days a year,” he explained.
He said Cardinals-licensed sports betting is planned to be set up at three tribal casinos in Chandler and Laveen Village, Arizona, and will be operated by Gila River Indians.
Bidwill added that the Cardinals are the only unbeaten NFL team this year and the fan base has embraced the team at a time when all fans can bet on them too.
The Cardinals owner also stressed the importance of “getting the sports betting right” as Arizona casinos run several advertisements for their products with television advertisements to emphasize responsible gaming and not to support illegal gambling of any kind.
