Sportradar has closed the first exclusive betting data rights contract with UEFA. The company has reached a new agreement with the Union of European Football Associations, becoming an authorized data distributor for betting purposes from its current position as an integrity partner for the past 12 years.
The list of competitions includes: Euro 2024, European Qualifiers, League of Nations, European Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, UEFA Super Cup, Women’s Champions League, Women’s Euro, Under-21, Champions League Futsal and UEFA Futsal Championship.
In addition, the partners will continue to maintain their integrity operations, with Sportardar providing its Intelligence, Investigation and Bet Monitoring services to support the integrity of UEFA-sponsored events.
Carsten Koerl, CEO of Sportradar, said: “Sportradar has more than 20 years of experience in collecting and building valuable products from football match data and now, as the world’s leading sports technology company, we are the only organization with unique technology, capability and resources to truly support the growth of one of the largest federations in global sport.”
Koerl added: “Football remains the most popular sport in the world and we are extremely pleased that UEFA has chosen Sportradar for its competitive process. We look forward to working closely with them to support their involvement in the gambling industry.”
Sportradar will help extend UEFA’s involvement with the betting market
The exclusive agreement was concluded after UEFA’s first process for the distribution of betting data, as the organization intends to “maximize the value of match data and promote deeper engagement worldwide with football fans” , taking advantage of Sportradar’s network of 900 sports betting customers in 120 countries.
For Sportradar, the deal represents yet another expansion of its portfolio involving world-class sporting authorities for integrity and betting data purposes, including the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the International Cricket Council (ICC).
“We are delighted to be partnering with Sportradar, which is a leading global provider of sports data. This new agreement follows a long-standing cooperation with the company as our official integrity partner and is linked to our recent announcement of Bwin as the first betting partner for one of our competitions,” said Guy-Laurent Epstein, Marketing Director at UEFA.
Epstein concluded: “The combination of the two partnerships allows UEFA to engage more openly with the sports betting industry, gaining greater access to market intelligence, both from sporting integrity and from a commercial perspective.”
