GGPoker and Casino Malta by Olympic Casino have unveiled the full program for the “Battle of Malta 2020” festival, which will take place between the 1st and the 22nd of November. In all, more than 30 million euros in cash prizes will be distributed during the event.
The fifteen-series tournaments will offer a ring to the Battle of Malta winner, while satellite championships will take place at GGPoker. In addition, the organization is planning to return to face-to-face format in Malta in October 2021.
“With over 30 million euros at stake, this year’s Battle of Malta will be just as attractive to poker players as the previous year’s live festivals,” said John Scanlon, director of Live Events and Sponsorships at GGPoker.
He added: “We hope that everyone who planned to play poker in Malta this year will be able to participate and we can’t wait to see who will be crowned this year’s Main Event champion!”
Slawomir Switalski, General Manager of Casino Malta, also spoke on the initiative. “Due to the current situation, Casino Malta was ecstatic to be able to find a solution for this year’s edition, partnering with a prestigious brand like GGPoker”.

The long-awaited festival was initially scheduled to return to Malta with face-to-face competitions, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Designed for poker players from low to medium limits, the Battle of Malta is one of the biggest events in Europe.
