The Football Association of Spain (AFE) signed a collaboration agreement with the General Directorate for Game Regulation (DGOJ), an agency linked to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.
The purpose of the partnership is to promote initiatives aimed at preventing illegal behavior in everything that has to do with illegal games or fraud in football betting.
Both organizations consider that corruption linked to the manipulation of sports results and irregularities in bets are phenomena that compromise the interests of participants and operators of the sector, violate the essential values of football and may end up alienating players and fans.
Therefore, through this collaboration agreement, a communication channel was established between DGOJ and AFE, from now on, for the joint realization of various activities of an informative and educational nature.
The list of actions tends to include seminars, preparation of information material and promotion of awareness campaigns, both in the media and on social networks, as well as in the teams’ own changing rooms in order to instruct athletes and technical commissions.
