The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) recently established an official data sharing agreement with the Slovak Football Federation.
The organization is the body responsible for organizing football in Slovakia and is one of the largest sports institutions in the country, with more than 400 thousand members.
MGA’s sports integrity manager, Antonio Zerafa, said: “The contract with the Slovak Football Federation adds to an ever-growing list of data sharing agreements with international partners in the sporting world.”
Zerafa also commented that “we are proud that, through such successes, we are placing ourselves as an important collaborator in the investigation of results manipulation around the world. And, we hope to now be able to provide the same level of assistance to the Slovak Federation as well ”.
Jakub Čavoj, the Director of Integrity for the Slovak Football Federation, also commented on the partnership with MGA. “I hope this agreement will be very useful for both parties and will help us achieve a common goal: to protect the integrity of sports competitions.”
According to the director of the football organization, “the exchange of information can be important in collecting evidence, because many popular betting companies in Slovakia have a gambling license in Malta. Sharing best practices and exchanging data is fundamental in the fight against manipulation of results ”.
Therefore, the tendency is for this official partnership to facilitate the sharing of information between the two associations, aiming at complying with legal requirements and preserving the integrity of the modality.
