A couple did not win £ 182 million (approximately R $ 1.44 billion) in the European lottery when their lucky numbers came out, because payment for the ticket has not been confirmed.
According to Portal Uol, Rachel Kennedy, 19, and Liam McCrohan, 21, were extremely frustrated when they noticed that their traditional numbers: 6, 11, 12, 22, 29 and 33, in addition to the lucky number 11, had been drawn.
That’s because the couple had been playing the same game for five weeks, and intended to bet the same numbers again the week they left.
However, Rachel stated that the purchase of lottery tickets was in the option of automatic debit from her bank account. Last Friday, when the purchase would be completed, she did not have enough money.

Initially, the young woman did not notice that the purchase had not been made. So, when she checked the numbers for the lottery contest, she genuinely thought she had become the youngest millionaire in Europe.
“I called my boyfriend Liam and my mom into the living room and they couldn’t believe it either, so I thought, ‘My God, I need to call them,'” he told The Sun newspaper.
However, the disappointment occurred when she contacted those responsible for the lottery. “Yes, you have the right numbers, but you did not have funds in your account for the payment of the ticket, so it was not really processed,” was the information she heard when she tried to request payment for her alleged prize.
“I was on top of the world when I thought I had won, but when I found out I didn’t, Liam was actually more upset than I was,” admitted Rachel, who added that they were heartbroken for not winning the prize, only that couple decided to continue placing their bet weekly.
However, Liam and Rachel decided to change the numbers to play the lottery, because they believe that the old numbering ended up becoming synonymous with ‘bad luck’ for them.
