Last Thursday (4), the iGaming industry took a significant step towards female inclusion with the AMIG Poker Night event. The event was sponsored by PayBrokers, a company specialized in financial transactions in the iGaming and lottery segment in Brazil.

The objective of the meeting was to break down barriers and encourage the participation of women in the sector. With the presence of approximately 90 people, most of them women, participants were able to attend free classes and compete in a poker tournament with prizes that exceeded R$10,000.

Lisiane Merlo, marketing manager at PayBrokers, said: “It is an honor to participate in this important event at H2 Club, in a poker night that promotes female inclusion in the iGaming industry.

For us, it is a great pleasure to support AMIG Poker Night and offer the tournament prizes to the players. We hope this is the start of many success stories for women in the newly regulated betting sector in Brazil.”

Event organization

The event was organized by the Association of Women in the Gaming Industry (AMIG). This initiative encourages the participation and professionalization of women in the online gaming and betting sector, seeking to promote a more inclusive and egalitarian environment.

Águeda Yoshii, Coordinator of the AMIG Commercial Committee, highlighted: “We are very proud to promote this pioneering action to encourage female participation in the world of poker. This event offers a unique opportunity for more women to learn about and get involved with poker.”

“We believe this initiative will help break down barriers and diversify the poker scene. We are deeply grateful to the sponsors who made this event possible, contributing to an inclusive and inspiring environment for women,” he added.

Held at the H2 Club, known for promoting championships and game circuits such as truco and cacheta, the event was attended by four local professionals to teach the game and allow more women to explore the universe of poker, traditionally dominated by men.

Among the instructors were renowned names such as Bruno Kawauti, Vitor Bertolozzi, Anderson Souza and Carol Bueno.

“The growth of women in any area, but especially in our sport, is extremely important”, highlighted Carol Bueno.

“We are reaching more and more women in sport. Therefore, welcoming AMIG, which brings this initiative aimed at the female audience in the iGaming industry, is very significant. Being able to present a little of our sport to them is wonderful”, he added.
