The Portuguese capital hosted an SBC event for the first time last week. The SBC Summit Lisboa took place between the 24th and 26th of September, registering the presence of more than 25 thousand people.
The move from Spain to Portugal was welcomed by Robert Blaszczak, from Shot Quality, for opening doors to Latin America, especially the Brazilian market.
“It’s really cool that the event moved to Lisbon, as it has become a gateway to Latin America. Now, we have a presence much closer to Brazil, which is a large emerging market, and we do this here in Europe”, stated the executive.
According to Blaszczak, Shot Quality offers a relatively new product to the sports betting industry. “Previously, we mainly worked with coaches and other metrics to better understand what was happening in basketball games,” he explained.
From now on, the intention is to explore the probabilities of what happens on the court much more, even aiming to expand into other sports.
“Now we are taking this product to the gaming industry, which allows us to create much better probabilities on what is happening in basketball by implementing computer vision to create interesting new models that understand what the recent developments in gaming are,” he added, highlighting that the next step will be to expand to more matches and other sports.
