Career of Fernando Garita
Garita told us a little about her journey of more than 20 years in the industry, from her time in Costa Rica to taking on a leadership role in Brazil. He commented on the challenges of learning Portuguese and how this has led to some funny situations.
“I’m moving forward, but I’m going little by little”, he joked, talking about the difficulties and laughter that arise along the way.
One of the cool points he brought up was about “Jogo do Bem“, a Betsul initiative that allocates part of the profits to social causes. He highlighted how this helps the company to have a good image and make a difference. “It’s fascinating to see how we can contribute to society in a meaningful way,” said Garita.
Instead of bringing more professionals from Costa Rica, Garita is focused on training Brazilians. “My answer was I’m not going to hire more people from Costa Rica, but I’m going to train Brazilians,” he explained.
International operations for Brazil
Another issue was the challenge of adapting international operations to Brazil. Garita mentioned that they are bringing in outside experts to help train the team here. “We are bringing people from abroad with experience to train our young team here,” he said, highlighting the mix of international expertise with Brazilian energy.
Garita also gave his vision about the Brazilian market, talking about the potential for growth and the importance of a careful approach. He ended the episode with optimism about the future of Betsul and its impact on national iGaming.
