The capital of Santa Catarina hosted a series of discussions about affiliates, betting and games between the 12th and 15th of December. IGI Expo 2024 brought together several relevant personalities from the national iGaming sector, including Alessandro Valente, CEO of Super Afiliados and co-founder of BiS SiGMA Américas, the main betting event in Latin America.
Valente highlighted the importance of expanding these meetings throughout Brazil. “I think it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to expand and create more industry presence in regions that were not yet being explored. It’s a brilliant initiative by my namesake, Alessandro Lisboa. In addition to Santa Catarina and the South Region, we need to start thinking more about other regions of Brazil, such as the North, Northeast and Central-West”, he commented.
During a debate about the future of the affiliate market, he cited the impact that regulation will have on small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. “There will be a decrease in revenue and results for Super Afiliados, but the small affiliate that intended to enter the sector will be harmed.”
“I am very sorry that this happens in a market that we finally managed to regulate, but which ends up excluding small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. This also happens with operators, since a bookmaker cannot start an operation with less than 100 or 200 million reais”, he added.
BiS SiGMA Américas will explore the next steps for the Brazilian gaming industry
With an official date already defined, BiS SiGMA Américas will take place between April 7th and 10th, in São Paulo (SP). According to Alessandro Valente, the objective will be to debate the legalization of land-based casinos and the post-regulation scenario for online gaming in Brazil.
“At the beginning of the year we will work on this issue [legalization of physical games]. At BiS SiGMA Américas 2025, we will bring content. Attention will be divided between casino resorts, urban casinos, land-based casinos and the post-regulation scenario, including those who were harmed, such as affiliates and small business owners. We will mainly work on these two issues”, he concluded.
