The Mega-Sena continues to accumulate! Contest 2,831, which can pay out a million-dollar prize of R$105 million, accepts bets until 7pm today, both in lotteries and online.

The draw will be held at 8pm this Thursday (20th) in São Paulo. In the last contest promoted on Tuesday (18), no bettor was included in the main bracket.

The minimum bid currently on Mega-Sena costs R$5. For those who prefer to do so online, simply access the Loterias Caixa platform. Afterwards, just register and play the game using mobile devices or computers.

For this simple bet, which only has six tens, the probability of winning is 1 in 50,063,860. On the other hand, in the game with the maximum allowed number of 15 numbers, which costs R$22,522.50, the chances rise to 1 in 10,003.

How much would the Mega-Sena prize yield per month?

This sum would change anyone’s life, but how much would it yield if applied to more traditional investments?

Savings

Brazilians’ first option is savings. Therefore, the prize of R$ 105 million would yield approximately R$ 600 thousand, taking into account that the citizen would withdraw the income monthly. Savings are exempt from paying Income Tax.

Tesouro Selic

The Treasury Selic 2027 grants payments of Selic + 0.0532% and would generate around R$850 thousand per month, already discounting the Income Tax of 22.5%.

Tesouro IPCA+

While the IPCA+ Treasury with redemption scheduled for 2045 would provide around R$790 thousand every 30 days, deducting Income Tax. The projection considers the return recorded in the last 12 months.

CDB

The CDB that pays 100% of the CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate) would correspond to R$842 thousand per month, excluding Income Tax.
