The Prizes and Bets Secretariat of the Ministry of Treasury (SPA/MF) published, this Tuesday (25), in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU), ordinances that definitively authorize six companies to operate fixed odds bets. In addition, 13 brands associated with these companies were registered.
List of 6 new betting companies with definitive authorizations
Signed by the Secretary of Prizes and Betting, Regis Dudena, the ordinances establish the rules for the exploration of lottery modalities. According to the official text, the secretary, based on Decree nº 11,907 and Laws nº 13,756 and 14,790, determined the standards.
Firstly, Ordinance 370 authorizes the company Big Brazil Tecnologia e Loteria S.A., operating under the Caesars brand, to explore fixed-odd betting. In addition, the company will operate in sports segments and online games, both physical and virtual, until December 31, 2029.
On the other hand, Ordinance 371 grants Simulcasting Brasil Som e Imagem S.A., with the Betsson brand, permission to operate only in the virtual environment. Like the first, the validity of the authorization extends until December 31, 2029.
Next, Ordinance 372 authorizes Reals Brasil Ltda, which uses the brands Reals, UX and Netpix, to operate in both physical and virtual modes. Likewise, the validity of the authorization is until the end of 2029.
Still in this context, Ordinance 373 grants Betbr Loterias Ltda, which encompasses the brands Apostau, B1 Bet and BRBet, the operation of betting in sports segments and online games. Therefore, the operation is valid until December 31, 2029.
In turn, Ordinance 374 authorizes Skill On Net Ltda, with the brands Bacanaplay and Playuzu, to operate exclusively in virtual events. In this case, the authorization also extends until the end of 2029.
Finally, Ordinance 399 grants Sábia Administração Ltda, which operates under the brands BR4Bet, Gol de Bet and Lotogreen, permission to explore physical and virtual betting. However, this authorization is valid until February 25, 2030.
In summary, the ordinances define the rules for operating betting in Brazil, with validity varying between 2029 and 2030. In addition, authorized companies and their respective brands, segments and modes of operation stand out.
Final and provisional authorizations
To date, SPA/MF has already issued 49 definitive and 21 provisional authorizations. In total, 77 companies are authorized to operate fixed-odd betting and online gaming, with 172 registered trademarks. Of this total, 71 companies are in good standing, and six operate by decision of the Federal Court.
Provisional authorizations were granted to companies that completed the first steps of the process, but were unable to meet all requirements within the 30-day deadline. Therefore, the number of companies with provisional authorization fell from 54 to 21.
Authorized companies can explore the fixed-odd betting modality, in accordance with Laws No. 13,756/2018 and No. 14,790/2023, in addition to SPA/MF ordinances and information from the SIGAP process.
