While the world awaited the 97th edition of the Oscars, last Sunday (2), Brazil celebrated an international victory in the world of poker. The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), the largest tournament in Latin America, received the award for “Best Circuit/Mid Major Series” at the Global Poker Awards, held in Las Vegas, last Saturday (1).

The award, known as the “Oscars of Poker”, highlights the most influential events in the sport globally. The event recognizes the best players, events and contributions to the growth of poker.

This year, the BSOP was voted the best mid-buy-in poker tournament in the world. These events, with more affordable entry fees, attract players of all skill levels.

Representing BSOP, co-CEO Devanir Campos and COO Lara Bruno participated in the ceremony.

According to Devanir, “we live in a country where poker is not part of the traditional culture, but with a lot of effort we managed to make the BSOP a globally prominent event.”

He highlighted that, although poker is more popular in countries like the USA, Brazil has established itself as one of the biggest markets for the sport, with tournaments that attract players from all over the world.

Held in Brazil since 2006, the BSOP is one of the largest tournaments in the world, offering a variety of modalities and prizes. In 2025, the event continues to grow, promoting poker as a sport of skill, strategy and concentration.

For fans or beginners, the next edition is scheduled to take place between March 13th and 19th, in São Paulo.
