The sports betting market continues to have a strong influence on Brazilian football sponsorships. In the 2025 Brazilian Championship Series B, 70% of the clubs are sponsored by bets. However, Avaí, Amazonas, Chapecoense, Cuiabá, Operário-PR and Remo have not yet signed agreements with companies in the sector.

According to Leonardo Henrique Roscoe Bessa, consultant for the Federal Council of the OAB and partner at Betlaw, the regulation of bookmakers provides clubs with greater security when closing sponsorships.

He said: “With the regulation of betting houses, clubs feel safer in closing sponsorships with companies in the betting sector. Brazil is increasingly evolving in this market and is already considered the third largest country in the world in the sector.

I believe that in the coming years the segment should continue to grow exponentially and the agreements between teams and bets will be increasingly long-lasting.”

Million-dollar partnerships and recent contracts between Serie B clubs and bookmakers

Botafogo-SP secured new investments for 2025 by signing a deal with HanzBet, a bookmaker from Ribeirão Preto. This agreement should increase the club’s revenue by 40% this season.

Other clubs have also announced new deals recently. CRB signed a sponsorship deal with BETesporte, while Paysandu and Vila Nova signed a partnership with GingaBet in February.

André Baldavira, Head of Marketing at GingaBet, highlighted the importance of sponsorship beyond brand exposure. “We believe that sponsorship goes beyond brand exposure, it is a way to support the growth of the sport and connect directly with fans.”

Clubs seek new partners

While several teams have already secured sponsorships, some are still looking for new contracts. For example, Avaí, which had PixBet as a partner until 2024, is looking for a new master sponsor.

Furthermore, Cuiabá, without an agreement after the end of the contract with Drebor, awaits proposals to define the new occupant of the main space on the shirt.

Cristiano Dresch, president of Cuiabá, explained that the club will only begin negotiations when the proposal is considered satisfactory.

Dresch stated: “Cuiabá will only talk when we understand that the proposal is satisfactory and within what the club understands it can currently provide as a showcase.”
